11-year old struck and killed by pickup in Lake Jackson
Witnesses say 11-year old Amberle Woodard was in a crosswalk crossing on a “walk” signal when she was struck and killed Monday by a pickup truck driven by a 63-year old man. The pickup was turning right on a green light, and police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident, including examining the driver’s cell phone records. The accident happened at the intersection of Oyster Creek Drive and Circle Way in Lake Jackson.
Amberle celebrated her 11th birthday on Sunday. She is described as an energetic, outgoing, straight A student. Friends and co-workers of Amberle‘s family have set up the Amberle Taylor Woodard Memorial Fund at Texas Dow Employee Credit Union to help pay for the funeral costs.
