Allegedly drunk BMW driver causes head on accident near The Galleria

An allegedly drunkwrong way driver caused a head-on crash on West Alabama in Houston near The Galleria early Sunday morning. Around 1:30 a.m. a woman driving her BMW the wrong way on West Alabama crashed into another BMW. Three victims of the crash in the second BMW (i.e. the one that was driving safely) were taken to hospital: one of them was a child according to Channel 2’s report. The wrong-way driver was arrested at the scene and charged with drunk driving.

Drivers injured in head-on accident on Lauder Road

Two drivers were hospitalized last night after a head-on accident on Lauder Road near Long Oaks in north Harris County. Deputies say that the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck lost control of his vehicle and veered into oncoming traffic, hitting a Ford Ranger pickup truck head-on. The driver of the Ford Ranger was transported to hospital in critical condition. Sergeant S. Wolverton with Harris County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 13 local news that it was unknown if the Ford Ranger driver will survive his injuries. The driver of the F-250 pickup will face intoxication assault charges: there was evidence that both of the drivers involved had been drinking before the crash.

Emanuel Ramirez crashes into police car, charged with drunk driving

Emanuel Ramirez, 21, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he rear ended a HPD patrol car, totaling it. Police say Emanuel Ramirez was driving on the North Freeway Service Road near Burress when he tried to pass a larger vehicle before losing control of his vehicle and smashing into the passenger side rear of the police car. Ramirez then hit a light pole. The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries where he was treated and released.

Suspected drunk driver crashes into police car on Corporate Drive

A suspected drunk driver bought himself a trip to Harris County jail last night when he crashed his white-colored Chevrolet Tahoe into several over vehicles, including a marked Houston Police Department patrol unit. The Tahoe driver lost control of his SUV while driving on Corporate Drive in southwest Houston, striking two vehicles and the police car. According to Channel 13 there were no reports of any injuries in the accident; the driver was given filed sobriety tests and then charged with drunk driving.

One dead when Ford pickup and Toyota Camry collide on FM 1960 in Atascocita

Around 2:30 a.m. a dark-colored Ford F-series pickup truck was traveling west on FM 1960 in Atascocita, occupied by four male teenagers. As they approached the intersection of Timber Forest a Toyota Camry pulled out of a shopping center parking lot, turning in front of the pickup truck and causing a collision. There were four passengers in the Camry, two male and two female. One of the Camry’s male passengers, identified in a local news report as Colby Fitzgerald, died at the accident scene. The other passengers were transported to area hospitals, two of them by life flight helicopter. Nobody in the pickup truck was injured in the accident according to Channel 11’s report, but the 18-year old driver of the pickup was charged with driving while intoxicated. Despite Colby Fitzgerald’s death in the accident, the pickup driver will probably not be charged with intoxication manslaughter because the accident is not considered to be his fault. Alleged drunk driver causes fatal accident on Highway 6

Harris County Deputies arrested a man this morning following a crash on Highway 6 near Westpark around 1:00 a.m. that killed one person. Investigators believe the driver of a Ford Expedition SUV rear-ended a car, then lost control, swerved into oncoming traffic and hit a white-colored Chevrolet van nearly head-on. The driver of the van was killed. Deputies believe the driver of the Expedition was driving drunk when he caused the accident: he will likely face a charge of intoxication manslaughter.

BMW driver charged with DWI after fatal pedestrian accident

Houston Police Department believes a BMW driver was drunk when he fatally struck a pedestrian around 3:20 a.m. Saturday morning near Blalock Road and Long Point Road. The 38-year old BMW driver said he did not see the pedestrian until the man walked out in front of him. The pedestrian was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he later died. The BMW driver was charged with driving while intoxicated. In a separate incident, a Ford Taurus with two occupants crashed into the back of a HPD cruiser that was investigating the pedestrian accident with the BMW. Officer A. Vo who was sitting in the cruiser was taken to hospital with minor injuries: it is not though alcohol was the cause of the second accident.

SUV rollover on S 610 Loop ejects girl, killing her

A one vehicle accident on the South 610 Loop in Houston has claimed the life of a young girl believed to be around three years old.  An SUV was driving in the westbound lanes of the S. Loop around 2:30 p.m. Friday near Telephone Road when the vehicle entered a grassy median causing the driver to over-correct sending the vehicle into a roll. The little girl was ejected and died at the scene. The man driving was rushed to the hospital. Police believe speeding was a primary cause of the wreck and are checking to see if alcohol was involved. Detectives have yet to determine if the girl was properly restrained in a car seat. Channel 2 report here.

Suspected drunk driver kills one in accident near Willowbrook Mall

A single vehicle accident early this morning has left one man dead, another injured, and the driver is facing drunk driving charges. Houston police say that the driver of the blue-colored sedan missed a curve striking a fence at the Willowbrook Mall at Tomball Parkway around 3:30 this morning. Three men were in the car, one of the passengers was declared dead at the scene. The second passenger was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. Police detained the driver and planned to charge him with intoxication manslaughter. Officers say the driver refused a field sobriety test but did admit that he had been drinking, so he was transported to the hospital for a mandatory blood draw. Jennifer Nicole Molina charged in drunk driving death of Evelyn Galindo

21-year old Jennifer Nicole Molina is charged with intoxication manslaughter after a Sunday morning car accident that left Evelyn Galindo dead. Galindo was driving a Honda Civic and was rear-ended by a Nissan Versa around 3:20 a.m. at the 10100 block of the North Freeway feeder road just south of West Road. The Honda Civic then slammed into a concrete pillar. Molina’s Versa crashed through a chain link fence and stopped in a parking lot, police said. Galindo was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. Molina called a relative who came to the accident scene and picked her up, leaving her car in the parking lot, but the relative talked Molina into returning to the scene: she was given a sobriety test and had blood drawn, police said.
