Houston’s icy roads causing accidents all over the city
February 4, 2011: As a major winter storm rolls into Houston, local news channels are reporting multiple freeway closures and car accidents all over the city. One accident shut down all of the northbound main lanes of the southwest freeway (US59) at the 610 Loop. Another crash at 249 and Beltway 8 was reported at around 5:00am that included an overturned vehicle. Officials are asking drivers to stay off the roads if possible and Houston police are making their presence known to encourage drivers to slow down to avoid additional accidents.
